Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently imprisoned, claimed that the opposition "convincingly" won the parliamentary elections,which were "completely rigged." He called for protests, as stated in Saakashvili’s message on Facebook on Sunday, October 27.

"These elections have been stolen from the Georgian people, so we must engage in continuous demonstrations and civil disobedience," Saakashvili declared.

He added that a unified opposition coordination center should be immediately established to protect the election results. Currently, no one should enter the parliament, Saakashvili emphasized.

"Now is the time for a major protest. We must show the world that we are fighting for freedom and that we are people who do not accept injustice," the politician added .
