The entire country is engulfed in protests. The Georgian people are fighting against the pro-Russian government, which falsified parliamentary elections and abandoned European integration. In Batumi, opposition members were detained for placing a sticker on a building wall, while in Tbilisi, several people were arrested for disrupting judges at a New Year\u2019s corporate event. All officials of the bloody regime must understand that Georgians will not forgive their betrayal and service in Russia's interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday evening, at pro-European protests in Tbilisi and Batumi, law enforcement detained around 20 more people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Tbilisi, events unfolded outside a restaurant where judges were gathered for a Christmas and New Year\u2019s corporate party, and protesters decided to confront them over their \u201cservice to the regime.\u201d The venue was guarded by special forces equipped with water cannons, and tensions flared several times. Ultimately, the judges left the restaurant under police protection. Among the activists, nine were detained for \"minor hooliganism\" and \"disobedience to the police.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Batumi, eight people were detained, including two members of the \u201cFor Change\u201d coalition and Guram Murvanidze, a cameraman for the local outlet Batumelebi. The detentions were prompted by a poster calling for a general strike, which Murvanidze had affixed to a wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople were arrested over a sticker, and it didn\u2019t even contain anything offensive, just a call for a strike. Apparently, Georgian Dream is very afraid of a strike\u2014they wouldn\u2019t survive it, and it would destroy their illegitimate power. They are threatening peaceful protests, and we express our solidarity with all detainees,\u201d local media reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s worth noting that daily protests have been taking place in Tbilisi and other cities across the country. They intensified on November 28, following Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze\u2019s announcement that the country\u2019s European integration would be postponed until at least 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
